My Growth

The photo above was taken in our Discovery Research classroom, during our class session when we were visited by a member of the Special Collections staff from Hornbake Library. In this session, we reviewed old scholars documents, discussed the criteria for what should and should not be archived, and how we personally would choose how we would have decided on each item. I found this exercise to be particularly fascinating by viewing the history of the Scholars program, though I also found it to be indicative of the growth that I endured as a student through the Discovery Research course.

I believe that this exercise we performed in class demonstrated my growth as a student because the course has developed my processing of critical information and analysis of data or documents. As a result of my experience in this course, I feel better prepared to approach new academic situations with a newfound clarity.
